UPESY
The App allows citizens - in need of an emergency response - to raise an alarm to a safety-net of friends (Pre-registered by user) and/or a private service provider e.g. AAR, G4S etc. The App covers 4 major areas of emergency i.e. Security (Personal, Home, or Workplace); Medical; Road Rescue; and Fire.
- Freely downloadable on App Stores
- Users Register & Add friends to create 'safety-net'
- Users raise alert which is received by friends (safety-net) as SMS
- SMS contains link, which when opened friends can view exact location where alert was raised
- Users can use App to subscribe to Service Providers e.g. G4S
- If user is subscribed to service provider, the provider also receives alert if raised
- The App shows police hotlines for the specific police control room in the police division in which the user is in, at that particular time (GPS-dependent)
- Users can use the App socially e.g. share their location such that friends can navigate and come to where they are
- Users can request friend(s) to monitor their movements from the App until they get to their destination

The system enables a person at or near the point of occurrence of an incident (Crime/Disaster/Emergency etc.) to use their mobile phone through a simple procedure using a mobile Application to deliver an alert to the main Police Control Room and the respective Divisional Control Rooms
The Mobile App
Citizens simply download the app for iPhone via iTunes® or for Android smartphones via Google PlayTM®. This straightforward app makes it easy for people to:
- Choose an appropriate category of the incident
- Comment on the incident
- Optionally take a photo of the incident, or upload from the gallery
- Submit the incident
